BUX advances along with European peers

The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index finished the session on Wednesday up 0.60% at 27,573.51, lifted by gains from OTP Bank.

After hovering around the break-even line in directionless trade in the morning, the index spent the afternoon in positive territory.

OTP Bank gained 1.99% to HUF 6,762 on turnover of HUF 5.49 bln from a HUF 9.8 bln session total.

Oil and gas company MOL lost 0.45% to HUF 17,515 on turnover of HUF 1.56 bln.

Drugmaker Richter rose 0.34% to HUF 5,820 on turnover of HUF 2.23 bln.

Magyar Telekom closed flat at HUF 445 on turnover of HUF 0.47 bln.

The bourseʼs mid-cap BUMIX index edged down 0.04% to 1,709.97. 

Elsewhere in the region, Warsawʼs WIG 20 rose 0.44% and the Prague PX advanced 0.67%.

Western Europeʼs biggest indices were up before the end of trade on Wednesday. Londonʼs FTSE rose 0.47% and Frankfurtʼs DAX climbed 1.64%.
