Around 60% of payments were from Hungarian budgetary funds and 40% were monies from the European Union, AKI said.
Some 36% of subsidies went to crop production, animal husbandry received 17%, and horticulture 4.9%. Agricultural loan portfolio was HUF 930 bln at the end of March, down 7.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
The share of preferential loans was 61.8%.
Food industry loan portfolio climbed 2.5% to HUF 729 bln, with the proportion of preferential loans at 33.4%. The share of non-performing loans was 2.7% in agriculture and 4.2% in the food industry.
The national average across the whole economy was 4.8%.
