Organic Farmland Ratio in Hungary Over 5%
The proportion of agricultural area in Hungary used for organic farming stood at 5.2% in 2021, fresh data from Eurostat show.
In absolute terms, there were about 262,900 hectares of farmland in Hungary used for organic farming in 2021.
Eurostat noted that the area of organic farmland in Hungary has doubled since 2012.
In a regional comparison, the organic farming area in Czechia reached 511,700 hectares in 2021. There were 404,600 hectares of organic farms in Poland and 118,900 hectares of organic farmland in Slovakia.
