Volume Increase Lifts Farm Sector Output in 2023

The output of Hungary's farm sector rose 6.5% to HUF 4.334 trillion in 2023 as volume climbed and prices fell, state news wire MTI reports, citing a first estimate released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday.

Output volume climbed 25%, while prices fell 14.8%.

The output value of crops and gardening products increased by 3.9% to HUF 2.404 tln. The volume of the segment increased 44.4%, but prices dropped 28.1%.

Output value of live animals and animal products grew 10.4% to HUF 1.622 tln. Volume edged down 0.5%, while prices increased 11%.
