Farmgate Prices up 5.1% in March

Farmgate prices in Hungary rose 5.1% in March, after climbing in the double digits for more than two years, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Crop prices fell 7.1%, dropping for the first time in more than three years.

Grain prices slipped 6.5% and oilseed prices plunged 35.4%.

The cost of livestock and animal products rose 37.3% as prices for live animals increased 38%, and animal product prices grew 36%, albeit rates more than 15 percentage points under those in the previous month.
