Bonduelle turned out close to 300 million cans of Hungarian sweet corn at its local plants this year, a new record, the French-owned company said yesterday, according to piacesprofit.hu.

Around 90% of the locally grown sweet corn will be exported.

Bonduelle buys from 130 local partners that grow sweet corn on 10,500 hectares.

This year, it processed 136,000 tonnes of the vegetable. The company has three canneries in Hungary.
