Approximately 60 cabs protested yesterday in Budapest against U.S.-based ridesharing service Uber, precisely the service’s free promotion announced for this weekend. The protest involved a drive through the city center ending near the Castle District, Hungarian blog Kettősmérce reported late yesterday.

According to the blog, the drivers are planning another protest for next Friday’s rush-hour traffic if “steps are not made to level the playing field”.
