Magyar Telekom Acquires HUF 14.6 bln of Shares at Buyback Auction

Magyar Telekom accepted offers for HUF 14.6 billion of its shares, the maximum announced amount, at a buyback auction on Thursday, the company said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

MTel bought 32,941,370 shares at the auction. The average price was HUF 443 per share. The highest price was HUF 448 per share.

After auction transactions are executed, MTel will hold 76,020,203 treasury shares. There are 1,005,801,352 MTel shares listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange.

Shareholders had approved the auction, along with a HUF 29.5 bln dividend, at an annual general meeting in April.
