Kométa 99 completes HUF 2bn investment at meat plant

Hungarian meat company Kométa 99 on Tuesday inaugurated a HUF 2bn salami curing plant and a renovated slaughterhouse at its base in Kaposvár (SW Hungary).

Kométa 99 managing director Giacomo Pedranzini said the company had made investments of more than HUF 8bn in the past ten years. These investments were supported by almost HUF 1bn in grant money, he added.

Rural Development Ministry state secretary Endre Kardeván, who participated in the ceremony, said Kométa 99’s headcount is 600, making it one of the biggest employers in Kaposvár and in Somogy County.

Kométa 99 processes about 800,000 hogs a year.
