Semmelweis Uni advances in THE ranking

Semmelweis University, Hungary's top medical school, has placed in the 250-300 group in the latest annual Times Higher Education World University Ranking, advancing from 401-500 a year earlier, the school said on Thursday.

Rector Béla Merkely said Semmelweis gained the second-most ground in the ranking among European universities.

Other Hungarian universities on the list include Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), in the 601-800 group, as well as the University of Pecs, University of Debrecen and University of Szeged, all in the 801-1,000 group.
