Takata begins test production in Hungary
Japanese airbag manufacturer Takata's new plant in Miskolc in northeastern Hungary began test production on its units, regional daily Észak-Magyarország reported today.
More than 300 people work at the plant and headcount is set to exceed 1,000 in the plant that is expected to turn out 4 million airbags a year. The cornerstone of the€68m plant was laid down last spring.
The Hungarian government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japanese automotive industry supplier Takata in Budapest on September 6.
