That is HUF 100 bln more than was initially planned due to strong interest, NTH said.

According to a statement issued on the ministry’s website, the tender, which ran from March 17-24 with the goal of expanding the housing supply, received applications from 23 funds managed by 20 fund managers, 19 of which met the eligibility criteria.

Fund managers applied for a total of HUF 393 bln in support, nearly double the originally announced HUF 200 bln, prompting the increase in the tender ceiling.

Eligible applicants included domestic fund managers who, by the end of 2024, managed at least HUF 25 bln in real estate and/or securities funds or private equity funds with a similar average registered capital.

Each fund manager could submit multiple applications, with each fund eligible for a minimum of HUF 5 bln and a maximum of HUF 20 bln.

Funds awarded must allocate 100% of the capital to domestic real estate, primarily apartments and dormitories, with at least 30% invested in projects outside Budapest.
