The price of resale homes increased by 8.2% and the price of new homes climbed by about 14.5% during the period.
In a quarter-on-quarter comparison, the house price index reached approximately 5.2%. Resale home prices rose by about 5.3% and new home prices increased by some 4.6%.
The price of resale homes averaged HUF 521,000 per square meter for the whole country in the first quarter, but were as high as HUF 918,000/sqm in the capital.
The price of new homes averaged HUF 1,163,000/sqm countrywide. In the capital, prices averaged HUF 1,477,000/sqm.
A little over 19,100 homes were sold in Hungary in Q1, with resale home transactions accounting for about 96% of the total.
