The Takarék Index shows that per-square-meter home prices rose the most, by more than 30%, in the area around Lake Tisza. In spite of the increase, homes in the area could be had for just HUF 140,000 per sqm.
Prices of homes in the hilly Mátra and Bükk regions climbed around 20%, while prices around Sopron rose just 7%.
Homes in the area around Lake Balaton were sold for around HUF 570,000 per sqm ast year. Home prices on the Danube Bend and the area around Sopron were both about HUF 420,000 per sqm.
Home prices around Lake Balaton varied widely, ranging from close to HUF 1 million per square meter in Zamardi and HUF 389,000 per sqm in Keszthely.
