These primarily smaller projects, each with 250-400 apartments, target neglected brownfield sites with good transport links, including nine in Budapest (providing a total of 3,200 units in Districts III, IV, XIV, and XIX), one in Budaörs, and one in Debrecen.

Public consultation has begun on a fast-track permission process for another 4,300 Home Start apartments across these sites, which must adhere to a HUF 1.5 mln/sqm price cap to ensure affordability.

State Secretary Miklós Panyi highlighted how the initiatives will expand affordable housing supply while revitalizing urban areas through discussions with local municipalities.

The projects promise improvements to the cityscape on underused industrial land.
