Average square meter prices have risen by 55% compared to 2022 in Veszprém County, where, based on average real estate prices, the cost of buying a home already exceeds HUF 60 million, Duna House said with reference to the local real estate map.
According to business daily Világgazdaság settlements around Lake Balaton are unfailingly popular, and their real estate prices push the county's average housing market prices high.
Those looking for an apartment in Veszprém spent HUF 9 mln less on purchases than last year, while average square meter prices in the county jumped by 55% in a single year.
The sudden price rise was due to the popularity of the northern shore of Hungary's biggest lake, the report notes.
