The greenfield project was launched this April. When finished, the complex will host the vehicle company's new Hungarian headquarters and the most modern Volvo Truck Center in the Central and Eastern European region, based on the plans of the Óbuda Group and built by Weinberg. Work is progressing as planned, with the building reaching its highest point in six months, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
The modern, multifunctional office was designed to meet customer needs and provide a quality working environment for employees. Sustainability and climate neutrality were a key focus in the construction and operation of the site. This is where the mindsets of the client and the contractor meet, as these values are of strategic importance to both Volvo Trucks and Weinberg.
János Borbély, project manager of Weinberg '93, also thanked Volvo Hungária for the contract in his speech. He stressed that his company will do everything possible to ensure that this important development is completed in the best possible way, in the most beautiful way, and on time.
A new era is beginning in the life of Volvo Hungária, according to Tamás Somogyi, the company's service retail director and project manager.
"We expect that this new environment will bring our own employees and our customers closer together, allowing us to provide a more interactive, higher quality service," he said.
He added that they are proud that the new site will be climate-neutral and that this is just one of many steps in the company's environmental commitment. The project manager is confident that the new environment will bring many exciting opportunities and new challenges.
The complex will also include a separate truck wash, a customer lounge, a second-hand car dealership, and a reception area. The main building of Volvo Hungária's new headquarters will consist of four organically linked sections: a two-story office, a truck service, an examination and training center, and a bus service.
The development's buildings will cover an area of around 5,500 sqm, alongside more than 23,000 sqm of green space, and 125 trees. Some 35,000 sqm will be paved. The project will be completed in just over a year, by July 2024, according to plans.
