E.ON operates and develops the electricity network in North and South Transdanubia, Pest County, and Budapest, and the gas network in six counties of Transdanubia, ensuring a secure energy supply for millions of customers.

E.ON installs solar systems, heat pumps, cooling and heating smart air-conditioning and provides cost-effective energy services to residential and business customers throughout the country. It also provides electricity and gas sales services to market businesses.

In selecting the new headquarters, E.ON also looked for a sustainable solution, in harmony with their activities, equipped with the highest technology available, with a human focus, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

BakerStreet offers eight floors, large terraces, an inner garden, and an underground garage with four levels. Progressive and modern facade elements, public green surfaces, and atriums characterize the building designed by Artonic Design Architect Studio.

In terms of technical features, the building uses mechanical solutions and materials that meet the highest energy and environmental standards. Thanks to the heat pump system, the building is able to produce more than 30% renewable heating energy but features such as ground and rainwater recycling are also part of the technical specifications. The Access4You Gold certification – which classifies the extent to which the given building is accessible to users with special needs and impaired working ability – is also a good example of the creation of a truly people-centered workplace.

E.ON Hungária Group is committed to solutions supporting the health, safety and general wellbeing of its employees. The open spaces, the community centers – which are created each and every floors -and the different-sized meeting rooms give free vent to teamwork. The social & breakout points allow the possibility for the collaborators to get together, exchange opinions, and ideas and inspire each other. The building adapts to the changes of working trends, the ever more present hybrid – the combination of remote and office work – way of working at the same time. The usage of shared desks is greatly contributing to significantly reducing the environmental load of the office existence. The four-level of underground garage, the bicycle storage with shower and changing room facilities, the e-car chargers are all for the convenience of the employees.

“Our energy for a sustainable tomorrow  – is the mission of E.ON Hungária. Therefore, during the selection of our new headquarters the key aspect was that the new building should apply future-proof energy and architectural solutions and adapt to a flexible hybrid operation, serving as a comfortable and inspiring working environment. BakerStreet entirely complies with all these criteria and, in addition, eminently meets environmentally conscious and sustainable requirements,” said Zsolt Zsedényi, Deputy CEO of E.ON Hungária Group.

“Sustainability is one of the most current and pressing matters that affect the operation of companies worldwide. ESG principles have also become essential, and energy efficiency has emerged as one of the top priorities in the real estate market. Today, the aim of an office is not to gather employees and the tools necessary for work in one place, but rather to create buildings and community spaces for many decades that fit organically into the city’s bloodstream, using renewable energy to maintain them – the key is to give back, not to take. The office of the future is environmentally friendly, human-centered, inclusive, and breathes together with the city,” said Norbert Schőmer, country director of Atenor in Hungary.
