The central government has earmarked HUF 152 bln in direct support for the local council, which is coordinating the infrastructure investments on an area of 640 hectares, Kovács said.
A further HUF 40 bln has been allocated to the Ministries of Energy Affairs and Construction and Transport for the infrastructure upgrades, he added.
The investments will be carried out in three phases and should finish at the end of 2025, he noted.
Chinese battery maker Sunwoda announced plans in the summer to build a HUF 580 bln plant at the industrial park in Nyíregyháza. It will be the company's first manufacturing facility in Europe.
