Output of Hungary's industrial sector rose 22% year-on-year in June, albeit from a low base, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first reading of data released today.
KSH said all branches of manufacturing contributed to the increase; however, growth "slowed significantly" in the vehicle manufacturing segment and "to a lesser degree" in the computer, electronics and optical equipment as well as the food, drink and tobacco products segments.
Adjusted for the effect of workdays, industrial output increased 18.6%.
In a month-on-month comparison, output edged down a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 0.3%
