Competition in brick production could improve, and market concentration can be offset by state incentives to expand domestic manufacturing, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) said in a statement yesterday on its investigation into the brick market, according to profitline.hu.

According to the announcement, the completed sector inquiry covered all levels of the value chain.

GVH reviewed the market behavior of brick manufacturers, purchasing associations with a significant role in the market, building material retailers and contractors. It added that industry players had been able to comment on the draft public summary of the study's findings in a public consultation.

GVH included the feedback of the companies in its report.
