The new division head aims to strengthen existing partnerships and continue along the established path by drawing on his broad healthcare experience, Roche says.
Ahnesorg, who holds a degree in biochemistry, has worked at Roche for two decades, during which he held various leadership positions in Switzerland and the United States, including in the global pharmaceutical strategy organization.
Most recently, he was responsible for the hematology portfolio at Roche, which includes 20 marketed and pipeline medicines designed to improve the lives of people living with blood disorders.
He also played a key role in Roche’s efforts to establish gene and cell therapy as innovative solutions for areas of high unmet medical need.
