PC market grows 33% in 2013, 42% in Jan.-Feb.
Hungary’s personal-computer market grew by about one-third to nearly HUF 100 billion in 2013, marketing company Notebook.hu informed national news service MTI. Notebook.hu reported that sales of tablet computers rose 110% in 2013, while sales of laptop computers increased 25% and sales of desktop computers declined by an identical 25% last year.
Notebooks are expected to sell for HUF 60 billion this year, after turnover grew to HUF 53 billion last year from HUF 43 billion in 2012, Notebook.hu forecast. According to company statistic, In the first two months of this year 42% more tablets were sold in Hungary than a year earlier, they said.
The company noted that internet sales of personal computers accounted for 25% of the market in 2013, up from 20% in 2012.
