OrthoSera Dental, a company which manufactures dental implants, has received HUF 180 million from the Széchenyi Capital Investment Fund (SZTA), a venture capital fund set up by the Hungarian government to finance SMEs, Hungarian news agency MTI reported today.

The capital will be used by OrthoSera Dental to expand its "BoneAlbumin" implants, devised by the company’s Austrian proprietor, fund manager Imre V. Csuhaj said, adding that the implants were developed at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.

"Hungary has a 20% share of the worldʼs dental tourism; one in five tourist who come to Hungary do so to receive dental care,” the fund manager said, according to online daily index.hu. “This extraordinary interest can be further enhance by a unique development such as this implant," he added.

The owner of OrthoSera Dental augmented SZTA’s investment with an additional HUF 57 mln in cash and assets. Headcount at the firm is expected to increase by eleven by mid-2016.
