Three Marriott branded hotels in Budapest joined Marriott Internationalʼs annual "You Eat, We Give" charity campaign, supporting young people from challenging backgrounds
The program runs through September and October, with the Budapest Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center and, for the first time, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest all participating. The international campaign aims to donate at least EUR 400,000 to youth charities, in order to support young people in finding independent lives and careers.
“Marriott has a long history of investing in programs that help young people," says Reiner Sachau, chief operations officer for Marriott International in Europe. “It’s been amazing to see the results of our ʼYou Eat, We Giveʼ fundraising campaign so far, and we’re really proud of the commitment our hotels have shown in helping young people in Europe realize their full potential and open the doors to meaningful work. We’re excited to be able to empower our diners again to join us in achieving our goals."
The company aims to donate the equivalent of one euro per lunch or dinner served to guests and visitors at the brandʼs hotels. Deák St. Kitchen (The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest), Peppers Mediterranean Grill (Budapest Marriott Hotel) and Oléo Pazzo Mediterranean Bistro (Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center) are all participating.
Money raised by these Budapest hotels, along with other European properties, will provide vocational training and life-skills courses through SOS Children’s Villages’ Youth Programs.
The "You Eat, We Give" campaign has managed to raise more than EUR 3 million since its inception in 2012, with Marriott workers also putting in an extra 60,000 voluntary hours to help young people on the path to a career.
