From October, Wizz Air will offer flights from Budapest to Copenhagen and Sharm El-Sheikh, he said.
Wizz Air flies 71 routes to destinations in 30 countries from Budapest and Debrecen. Its fleet of aircraft based in Hungary is set to reach 15.
This year, Wizz Air expects to carry over 4.8 million passengers on its Hungary flights, up from more than 3.7 million in 2022.
Wizz Air CEO József Váradi noted that while the passenger airline industry isn't expected to return to pre-pandemic levels until early 2024, Wizz Air is already performing at 60-70% over those volumes. Wizz Air's fleet will rise from 179 to over 200 aircraft by the end of the business year, he added.
