Motorway Vignette Sales Climb Over 15 mln in 2022
Motorway vignette sales in Hungary rose 13% close to 15.1 million last year, toll system operator NÚSZ said on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Sales of 10-day vignettes rose 16% to 9.3 million. Vehicles with foreign number plates accounted for about 1 million of the total.
Sales of one-month vignettes increased 9% to 2.8 million and sales of annual vignettes climbed 14% to 0.6 million.
Some 2.4 million of annual vignettes valid for a single county were sold, up 5% compared to 2021.
Revenue from sales of motorway vignettes reached HUF 97 billion, while revenue from HU-GO tolls paid by commercial vehicles rose 12% to HUF 355 bln last year, NÚSZ said.
Foreign trucks and lorries accounted for over 54% of the total.
