The BKK operates the system with the support of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL.

According to a report by news agency MTI, the MOL Bubi fleet now boasts 2,460 bicycles. In addition, it offers some 211 docking stations.

The next large-scale upgrade of the bikeshare system, dubbed “Bubi 3.0”, is set to launch in 2026 with a doubled fleet size. The upgrade will also bring about the addition of e-bikes to the fleet.
