MÁV said it will spend HUF 4.4 bln of its own funds on the renovation project.
The renovation will help to improve the operational safety of equipment and significantly reduce the number of failures and malfunctions.
The company said that train traffic at Keleti will be suspended for one month from August 25 and the traffic schedules on the lines affecting Keleti will be significantly changed from August 25 to September 20.
Modified train schedules are expected to be available from August 10 for early planning.
Along the affected lines, MÁV Group is establishing several transfer points throughout Budapest, which will be easily accessible from all parts of the capital by HÉV, Volán, and BKK services.
