The round flights to both cities will depart around noon from Budapest and arrive back the next day in the morning.
Flights to New York will operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and flights to Chicago on Tuesday and Saturday.
The flights will be serviced by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, based in Budapest, and the airline is open to employing Hungarian crew.
The first flight is scheduled for May 3, 2018.
Jost Lammers, CEO of Budapest Airport Zrt., operator of Ferenc Liszt International Airport, said the flights could have potentially 160,000 passengers annually.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said that until now Hungary has been at a competitive disadvantage as it lacked a direct air connection to the United States.
