Fielding questions from an opposition MP, Vitézy said the investment was “riddled with errors at every level” and asked whether the HUF 1 trillion price tag was justified.
He added that the government would take steps to declassify documents related to the investment, but that would require the consent of Chinese partners in the project.
The upgraded rail line is part of a corridor for Chinese goods bound for Europe.
Freight trains started operating on the line on February 27.
