The company said the delays impact roughly 10% of shipments and stressed that no parcels have been lost, with all items fully traceable and currently in the delivery process.
In a statement, the parcel delivery firm acknowledged the sensitivity of the Christmas period for customers and apologized for failing to maintain its usual service levels this year. DPD Hungary said employees and subcontractors are working at increased capacity, including weekends and continuous operational monitoring, to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
The company said it is providing ongoing and transparent updates to affected consignees regarding the status of their parcels. According to DPD Hungary, the last planned delivery day before Christmas is Dec. 23. For shipments addressed in Budapest, the company guarantees a first delivery attempt before Christmas for parcels collected from senders by Dec. 15. For deliveries to other parts of the country, the cutoff date for a first delivery attempt before Christmas is Dec. 19.
To support customers during the peak period, DPD Hungary introduced a 24/7 email-based automatic response system on Dec. 1, 2025, offering immediate status information. The company’s online tracking interface and mobile application continue to provide real-time updates on parcel deliveries.
DPD Hungary also addressed recent incidents in which private individuals or public figures shared the direct contact details of company executives, urging customers to refrain from contacting staff through personal channels. The company said threatening or harassing messages do not contribute to resolving operational issues and called on customers to use official communication channels to ensure efficient case handling.
Affected customers are encouraged to track their parcels through the myDPD online portal or mobile application. If sufficient information is not available through these platforms, customers can contact the company by email using forms available on DPD Hungary’s website. Compensation claims may also be submitted through the same channels in accordance with the company’s general terms and conditions.
DPD Hungary said it takes full responsibility for managing the situation and is focused on delivering all entrusted parcels safely and as quickly as possible, thanking customers and partners for their patience and understanding during the challenging period.
