China Eastern will launch a direct passenger flight between Ningbo and Budapest from the middle of June, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The flight will operate twice a week, Szijjártó said on Facebook.

He noted that a bilateral agreement on air travel between Hungary and China had recently been modified.

Chinese citizens are free to travel again with the lifting of pandemic restrictions and the competition for Chinese tourists has started in Europe, he said.

"The winners of that competition will be the countries that have the most and the best air connections with China," he added.
