The operator recommends that passengers check Budapest Airport’s website for transportation and parking options before departure.
The airport is prepared for the summer peak season from a transportation perspective as well. As part of this, the new Relax Parking opened on June 1, significantly expanding long-stay parking capacity. The affordable car park provides approximately 2,000 new spaces for those arriving by car, and nearly 50 electric charging stations are also available. A shuttle bus service operates between the terminal building and the car park, with departures every 15 minutes and a travel time of about 8 minutes; alternatively, the car park is also accessible on foot, with a walk of about 15 minutes.
Budapest Airport continues to offer passengers arriving by car a quick and convenient way to drop off and pick up passengers. A dedicated zone is available in Terminal Parking, located just a couple of minutes’ walk from the terminal, via a covered walkway. This solution also offers an alternative to the Premium Drop-off zone located on the departure level, while providing quick access to the terminal for both arriving and departing passengers.
Further improvements are also expected for passengers choosing public transportation. Budapest Airport supports increasing the frequency of the 100E Airport Express bus service, with the aim of improving service quality and the travel experience.
As part of the developments, Budapest Airport is preparing several projects to serve flights more efficiently, including the development of a pre-boarding zone and a ticket validation system.
For passengers traveling by taxi, Budapest Airport’s contracted partners are Főtaxi and Uber. The traditional taxi stand is located on the arrivals level of Terminals 2A and 2B. Standard Uber rides can be booked on the 2A side, while special Uber requests, such as larger, XXL vehicles, are available on the 2B side.
Among car-sharing services, GreenGo, MOL Limo and Wigo are available at the airport. MiniBUD, door to door transfer service, is also planning to expand its services with premium-class minibuses.
