Wolt Market Launches Charity Shop

Retail

Wolt users once again support charity organizations by sending food, however this time the donation feature will remain available even after the holidays, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

Customers will be able to donate to the participating organizations: Hangya Közösség, Heti Betevő Egyesület, and Utcáról Lakásba Egyesület.

In the Wolt app, customers can click on Wolt Market Charity Shop to buy donation packs containing food, cleaning and cleaning products, pet food, and other essential items chosen by the associations to support their work, in the amounts of HUF 1,000, 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000. It is possible to support several organizations at the same time, even with several parcels, and Wolt regularly delivers the parcels to the organizations.

"With the charity shop, we want to raise awareness of the work of NGOs and make it easy to donate, even with small amounts of a few thousand forints. We think it's important to make it possible to donate not only during the festive season but also continuously through Wolt Market," says Gábor Törös, managing director of Wolt Market.

Hangya Közösség helps orphaned animals by providing material, legal and professional assistance to animal shelters. Heti Betevő Egyesület has been distributing meals for nine years, cooking hot Sunday lunches for nearly 1,000 people a week. Utcáról Lakásba Egyesület works to provide decent, independent housing for homeless and vulnerable people.

Wolt Market opened its first Hungarian online store in Budapest a year ago. The chain has been expanding steadily over the past year and now operates seven stores nationwide. In addition to six stores in Budapest, the service is now available in Pécs and the eighth Wolt Market store will soon open in Debrecen.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
