Regional Surge in Heating, Winter Gear Searches Online

According to the latest data from retail price comparison website Árukereső.hu, Hungary, and the region as a whole have been preparing for the winter in recent days and weeks, with searches focused on buying everything from flooring to boilers to combat the cold.

In Hungary, interest in both air conditioners and radiators jumped by about the same amount, around 70%, while the number of searches for boilers grew by 40%

A similar phenomenon can be observed in Romania, where, in addition to heaters and air conditioners, inquiries for thermostats also increased by around 60%. Tiles and floor coverings, plus carpets, were also popular in the home country, with twice as many searches.

Czechs, Slovaks, Slovenes, Croats, and Serbs were also preparing for a more intense winter.

In the Czech Republic, the number of searches for car batteries and their chargers and emergency starters more than doubled. Interest in batteries also doubled in Slovakia, with a jump of almost 90% in Slovenia and almost 50% in Bulgaria.

In the Czech Republic, where it is already ski season, snow chains (around 90% increase in searches), winter gloves (around 70%) and snowboard helmets (around 60%) still dominated this category, while in Slovakia ski goggles (around In Slovenia, the desire for skiing was on the rise: there was triple the interest in skis and ski boots, but winter wheels (around 99%) and car batteries (around 90%) were also a big hit. The latter was also a popular product in Serbia, with almost double the interest.

Interestingly, in Slovakia and Slovenia, interest in children's carnival costumes more than tripled.
