Around 59% of Hungarians between the ages of 18 and 65 play video games regularly, which translates to a market of around 3.5 million people, the research conducted in May shows. Only around 31% of those Hungarians actually buy video games, 29% spend on gaming hardware or peripherals and 21% make in-game purchases.

Last year, spending on gaming hardware and peripherals reached HUF 49 bln. Spending on video games exceeded HUF 23 bln, while players spent HUF 14 bln on video game subscriptions.

The research involved a survey of over 1,000 people.
