Estonian Retail Sales Fall at Softer Pace in April
Estonian retail trade dropped by 3% year-on-year in April easing from a 4.1% fall in the previous month, data from the Tallinn-based Statistics Estonia (SE) showed on Thursday.
Sales increased for: automotive fuel (8.6%), medical & orthopedic goods, cosmetic & toilet articles (6.8%), and computers, peripheral units & software, telecommunications equipment, etc. (2%).
On the other hand, trade fell for audio & video equipment (-11.8%), via mail orders or the internet (-9%), and second-hand goods (-3%).
Sales also fell further for food, beverages & tobacco (-18.8%) and textiles, clothing, footwear & leather goods (-11.1%).
On a monthly basis, retail trade tumbled 2% in April from a 15% rise in the prior month.
