Croatia Retail Sales Growth Rises in November

Retail sales in Croatia rose by 7.3% year-on-year in November, accelerating from the 6.5% gain in the previous month, data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (Crostat) showed on December 29.

It was the most substantial rise in retail trade since October 2021, driven by increased sales in both non-food products (13.3% vs 10.7% in October). Conversely, sales of food, beverages & tobacco grew at a slower pace (2.1% vs 4.8%). On a monthly basis, retail sales grew by 1.2% in November, following a 1.1% increase in the prior month.

Another report from the Zagreb-based agency showed, that industrial production in the Adriatic country expanded by 4.8% year-on-year in November, from a 1% growth in the previous month, as output accelerated for manufacturing (6% vs 1.8% in October) and rebounded for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (1.8% vs -1.1%).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production increased by 2.6% in November, following a 1.4% decline in the previous month.
