Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter yesterday said it agreed to sell its wholesale and retail businesses in Moldova, according to an announcement on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange.

Richter agreed to sell the wholesale operation to Grin-Farm and the retail business to BIRIVOFARM. Richter is entitled to about 62% of the purchase price.

Richter CEO Gábor Orbán said the agreement "complements the strategic shift Richter has been executing over the past decade and it protects high margins achieved by its core, highly specialized pharmaceutical business segment."
