Egis Division to Develop, Produce Active Ingredients for Partners

French-owned Hungarian pharmaceutical company Egis Gyógyszergyár on Tuesday announced the launch of a new division to develop and produce active ingredients for industry peers as a contracted partner, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Egis unveiled its new business, dubbed Egis Pharma Services, at the industry trade fair CPHI taking place in Barcelona on October 24-26.

Egis noted that its R&D and production activities are conducted solely in Hungary.

Egis CEO Csaba Poroszlai said the company's vertically integrated structure gave Egis a big advantage.

Egis had revenue of HUF 219 billion in its business year ended September 30.
