Romania Industrial Output Rises in April

Industrial production in Romania rose 3.6% year-on-year in April, up from an upwardly revised 3% increase in the previous month, figures from the Bucharest-based National Institute of Statistics (INS) showed on Thursday.
It was the strongest growth in industrial production since May 2022, as output rebounded for mining & quarrying (3.8% vs -1.2% in March).
Moreover, output accelerated for manufacturing (6.5% vs 4%). Meanwhile, production fell at faster pace for electricity, gas, steam & air-conditioning (-14.7% vs -1.2%).
On a monthly basis, industrial output tumbled 1.3% in April, reversing an upwardly revised 4% growth in the prior month.
