Hungarian oil and gas company MOL on Friday said it signed an agreement to acquire the Szarvas Biogas Plant from BayWa AG.

The biogas plant produces 12.5 million cubic meters of biogas a year and has peak power-generating capacity of around 4 MW, MOL said.

The transaction must still be cleared by Hungary's Competition Office (GVH).

MOL is pursuing a strategy to invest in new, low-carbon, circular economy businesses.
