It is looking more certain that the Hungarian second-hand auto sales record of 817,000, set last year, will be broken in 2022, used car sales site jóautók.hu concluded from the sales data of January-April 2022, economic website Piac és Profit writes.

In April, 69,113 used cars changed hands, 7.2% more than a year earlier, and 288,000 used autos were sold in the first four months, up 10% year-on-year.

Sales of used cars were strong although many corporate fleets were not replaced, which has led to a significant shortage of supply.

Price increases of 20-30% are not uncommon in some used car categories.
