Including hybrid and plug-in models, KIA sales in Hungary could reach 1,200-1,300, Nagy said.

Total sales, with internal combustion engine models, could come to 7,300-7,400, he added.

Nagy said “model offensives” were underway by all vehicle manufacturers.

He also pointed to the challenge posed by Chinese brands entering the European market, creating a new situation affecting big local companies, but also poaching buyers from KIA.

Nagy said KIA’s share of EV sales in Hungary could be 12-13% in 2025.

He added that it was “realistic” for KIA to be among the top five brands on Hungary’s new car market in the long term. KIA models are sold at 29 dealerships in Hungary at present.
