Czech Republic in talks with potential battery cell factory investors

The Czech Republic is in talks with two potential investors, including Volkswagen, for an electric battery cell factory and is ready to offer billions of crowns in an incentive package,

Trade and Industry Minister Karel HavlíÄŤek said on Friday reported the Czech Radio.

The German automaker Volkswagen is aiming to open six battery cell plants in Europe by 2030 and the Czech Republic, which is home to VW's Skoda Auto plant, is a possible location. HavlíÄŤek said the government was also holding talks with another interested party but declined to name it.
