Some of the biggest Croatian companies could move their production out of the EU when the country joins the European Union on 1 July, the Croatian Times reported citing Macedonian news agency MINA. MINA speculates that Croatian companies that have markets in the former Yugoslav republics consider such a move. The same source revealed tobacco giant Industrija duhana Rovinj could move production into Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, cookies and chocolate producer Kras plans to launch a production facility in Prijedor, also in Bosnia and Herzegovina to avoid higher taxes for export.
