The strategy outlines the company’s commitment to sustainable operations across its extensive network in 16 Central and Eastern European countries. AutoWallis says that it is determined to ensure that all its subsidiaries align with a unified ESG framework, prioritizing environmental responsibility, social impact, and governance in their decision-making processes.

The ESG strategy, developed in line with previous targets, identifies five key focus areas: climate change, employee well-being, customer and end-user relations, business conduct, and urban mobility services. Each focus area is accompanied by specific targets aimed at promoting sustainability. For instance, AutoWallis has pledged to increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix to 30% by 2031 as part of its climate change initiative. Additionally, the company plans to conduct ESG training sessions for its employees to enhance their understanding and commitment to these goals.

In the realm of customer relations, AutoWallis is committed to offering accessible, safe, affordable, and sustainable transportation systems by 2030. The company also intends to establish a uniform governance policy to ensure ethical business conduct across all operations. As part of its focus on urban mobility services, AutoWallis aims to develop its mobility infrastructure by installing 100 new electric vehicle charging stations by 2031.

Gábor Székely, AutoWallis’s investor relations & ESG director, emphasized that AutoWallis prioritizes increasing the sustainability and energy efficiency of the group’s day-to-day operations, utilizing renewable energy sources to the greatest extent possible.

The group is also focused on meeting its social responsibility goals and adhering to governance targets, in line with its ambition to become a leading integrator in regional vehicle retail, wholesale, and mobility services by 2028.

AutoWallis was the first company listed on the Prime Market of the Budapest Stock Exchange to develop a Green Finance Framework, which enabled the successful issuance of green bonds. The group has also published its Sustainability Report for the third consecutive year.

Moving forward, AutoWallis plans to leverage EU Taxonomy-compatible green financing solutions to support its investments, ensuring that sustainability remains at the core of its business strategy.
