The store in eastern Hungary marks the next step in the Budapest-listed automotive group’s plan to strengthen its position in the Central and Eastern European market. The 400 sqm site will feature both a showroom and a service center and is expected to open by the end of the year.
AutoWallis, which operates in 17 countries, first entered the Hungarian market with BYD in 2023 when it opened a showroom in Budapest. A second dealership followed in Győr earlier this year. The Debrecen location is seen as a key step in bringing the Chinese brand to a wider base of customers in Hungary.
Péter Antal, head of AutoWallis’s retail business unit said that the BYD dealership in Debrecen is located in a prime location, next to one of the busiest main roads in Hungary’s second largest city.
He added that the expansion aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of growth through both acquisitions and organic development.
Antal also noted that AutoWallis remains committed to sustainable operations and the transition to green transportation, which is why the company has decided to further expand its presence in this segment.
