The segment accounted for 23% of manufacturing output during the month.
The detailed data shows that the electrical equipment segment, which comprised 12% of manufacturing output, climbed 15.8%. The output of the computer, electronics and optical equipment segment, accounting for 10%, fell 11.2%.
The production of the food, drinks and tobacco segment, which made up 14%, slipped 10.1%.
KSH confirmed that headline industrial output fell 5.3% in August, following a 2.6% decline in the previous month. Output dropped 6.1% when adjusted for the number of workdays.
